Hello everyone!
First off, I want to congratulate all you early-decision'ers that applied here and got in. Yay! Congratulations!! I know it was really tough to get all your material together and sent in on time, so I applaud you for that. And I hope I will meet a few of you next year!
Finally, finally, finally, I finished my third semester here at Wellesley.
I seriously can't believe I'm on break right now– the stress brought on by Wellesley has mostly dissipated, but now I find myself looking around and just waiting for the inevitable reminder of a deadline that I still haven't filled. But none appear, which is sort of.. frightening. In a way. This past semester has definitely conditioned me for free time=watch out for stress.
[this is how frazzled I look. Haha, nope, more like a Harvardian practical joke– gluing the antler ears onto a hare and calling it a Jackalope. "Native to Harvard. Globally Invasive"– hah!]
But now I have winter break, as well as the majority of the month of January off, so it's all mine to relish. I'm actually going to be immersing myself in Wellesley Admissions come a week or so, so I'll be back in a stressful atmosphere– Admissions is just as frazzled as its applicants come January.
I never actually appreciated the efforts of the receiving end of my College App until I worked at Wellesley Admissions. It's fun, though, and last year I learned a lot about the inner workings of a busy office.
I am planning to balance out the 8.30-4.30 workday with a good deal of tv (CSI, Arrested Development, possibly Glee?), knitting (I'm going to try my hand at wristwarmers!), and some cross-stitching. Not to mention blogging, scrapbooking, and trying out my first-ever apartment with a friend. As well as looking up psychology-related research opportunities for the summer and upcoming fall.
Um, what was that about less stress?…
[a firstyr friend, known by me as MiniBobo!, and me at a Boston outing!]
For the spring, I'll be continuing my research with my faculty advisor, Professor Carli. I worked with her during the fall as well, and we decided that since the project was yet not over, it would be best if the current team continued on with her.
Now, to answer some readers' (and potential swells'ers'!) comments! I just want to let everybody know that due to my not being close to a Mac for a bit, the next video post will probably be out in two weeks. And it'll be talking about social stuff during the week! 🙂 So wait for it, as I have more students and a cameo by me! haha.
Maria Taha and Victoria, thanks for your comments! The weather here is happily, happily, not as bad as that in Minnesota, which I have on good word from a fellow Minnesota student. We get a bit of snow (about three feet is the most I've ever seen), although the windchill (-3 Fahrenheit is the worst we've had) can be pretty bad. Otherwise, the downside to the weather here is simply that every single year, a blizzard decides to hit around Fall semester finals, causing peoples' flights to be canceled. But it all works out in the end!
Ashaki, I will be sure and address your comment at length in an upcoming blog post, as y'all WILL be treated hopefully to 2 blog posts over the next week. Until then, keep warm (or for some, keep dry!)!
