Real SNOW

Real snow y’all came down from the sky on Monday. It was the first official snowfall of the season. The last one was really nothing. There were slippery slopes and sidewalks, frosty leaves and grass. But it made for a beautiful sight. I took tons of pictures of the first official snowfall and wanted to share them with you. (I honestly don’t know why I get so excited about snow, I live in New Jersey).

Wellesley looks like a Winter Wonderland!

On Fridays, I usually do a volunteer program called BRYE (Boston Refugee Youth Enrichment) program. We essentially help tutor and mentor 2-5 graders through activity based learning. These kids are either child of immigrants or refugees or are immigrants or refugees themselves. We volunteer in Dorchester, a section of Boston, so it’s a nice way to get off campus. Coming into college, I knew I wanted to volunteer or work with children in an urban community like I did at home.

Wellesley also had a teach-in last week where three professors shared their thoughts on how we got this current political climate and how we move on from here. I heard a lot of interesting points and questions I never thought of. Most of all, it was important to see that professors and the administration at Wellesley realized the gravity of the situation and are encouraging their students to take action.

One of the professors had this slide of required reading that I thought I would share.

Hope you all are doing well as the college process gets more intense as we approach January. But I know you will all do well.

Wish me luck on finals!
