It feels like I never left. Though it has been 3 months since my last time on campus, I do not feel like much has changed, besides new buildings and a new cool Bates dining hall. It’s sort of like returning home. However, before coming, I was a little nervous about the changes. Would people remember me? How would professors react, friend etc? But as soon as I was back, all those fears went away.
Coming back for the second year feels weird. Mainly because, people expect to know what you are doing since you already have been here for a year, yet, I feel like I still don’t know everything.
I am very excited for this year, I have a lot of plans for myself. I am taking interesting classes (as always) and starting to get a better sense of what I want to study. I am also starting to get a better sense of myself and my role.
I wanted to leave you with this cool photo below. I am a Rick and Morty fan and have this Morty sticker on my laptop. The other day, at the Hoop, while I was working, a customer saw my laptop sticker and asked for a sticky note and drew something awesome.
A little context. The figure on the side is a Meeseek.
The text refers to our tab system. If you do not have cash on hand to pay, you can create a tab and add to it as you go. But at the end of the semester, you must pay your tab. If you do not pay your tab, we don’t make money and have to chase you down in order to get you to do so. (So yes, an unpaid tab is pain). The Meeseek is simply reminding you to do so. Isn’t it awesome!
This little gift made me feel glad to be back at Wellesley. A place where people understand all my weird jokes. Until next time!
