Café Hoop

I become a Noopie (New Hoopie)last week. Café Hoop is a student-run café in the bottom of our student center the Lulu Chow Wang Campus Center. (Hoopies are people who work at the Hoop).

In my opinion, it is one of the best places on campus. I fell in love with it the first time I went there during my first semester at Wellesley. I knew I wanted to work there or spend as much time as possible there. So when the application opened  I knew I wanted to apply. I gave in my application 10 minutes before the deadline and proceeded to wait nervously until I heard back. I eventually did get the job and have been enjoying my time since.

The current noopies.

It is a great atmosphere. I get to interact with students from all over campus. There are people who I never would have seen or interacted with otherwise. My first shift, I was a little nervous. I have never work in food service, or customer service before so I did not know what to expect. I did not want to mess up anyone’s order. Fortunately, I didn’t. I think I have been getting better. I am looking forward to the day when I become an expert Hoopie. I’ve also been having fun making orders in my own special way. I am also trying to think of a new menu item I could create. I’ve been researching online to see if I get any inspiration.

I’ve been enjoying getting to know my new co-workers. I am looking forward to seeing how working at the Hoop will impact my Wellesley experience. If any of you reading this are ever at Wellesley, come to the Hoop, maybe you’ll see me there.
