I often get a question from folks who don’t go to Wellesley about my activities. “What do you do for fun?” etc. Well, I will give you a brief answer to this question. One that I could elaborate on in later posts. I love the arts; music, poetry, paintings, photography, film, fashion, whatever it is, I love it. Boston has a great art and writing spaces, but Wellesley (yes, the college), also has some great spaces on campus. One of my favorite groups on campus is Wellesley Out Loud. They write and perform Slam Poetry and have begun hosting Poetry Nights and Writing Nights in my favorite place on campus, Cafe Hoop. It is great to see students gather and be creative. The words, the power, and wisdom that each person possesses, is wonderful to see.
Getting back into it
Another thing I did for fun this week was going to a concert in Boston. It was the one and only Solange Knowles! Getting off campus is pretty simple with our bus system so going to concerts are going to become a regular thing for me. College has offered me the opportunity to do things I would not have had the opportunity to at home. Even something as simple as going to a concert.
That’s all for this week! I leave you with this beautiful sunset from last week.
