It’s Spring Break!
While I am on this break, I know that many of you are receiving your letters from Wellesley. Congratulations to our new Purple class of 2022!!! I hope you are excited about your future! I remember getting my letter and being very excited, now it’s two years later and I am getting ready to go to Paris! I hope to see some of y’all for Spring Open Campus. Maybe I will get to host some of you in my room.
I’m going to be on campus for a couple of days before I leave for Paris! Today is Thursday and I leave on Monday. I have never stayed on campus during Spring Break. Most people have already left for their various Spring Break trips so campus is a little quiet.
This upcoming trip to Paris will be my second time there. So I am a little familiar with the city, especially with its metro system. There was so much I wanted to do the last time I was there, I am happy to get the chance to do it again. Plus, I get to see my friend who’s studying abroad in Paris right now!
At Wellesley, things have been pretty busy. I am in the middle of applying to internships and study abroad programs. I am hoping to go abroad for a whole year, so I need to get things ready before I leave. I’ve also been keeping up with my roles here at Wellesley. This past week, as part of my role as lecture chair of Ethos, we hosted poet Aja Monet. She read some poems from her latest book of poems My Mother Was a Freedom Fighter. She was obviously amazing and touched the hearts of a lot of students. Here are a few of the photos I took.
In addition to an awesome poetry reading, I also went to a concert. I love music, and because Wellesley is close to Boston, every time one of my favorite artists is playing, I immediately buy a ticket. Well, that’s only if they’re not too expensive. I recently saw rapper Big. K.R.I.T and his opener Cyhi the Prince. Needless to say, I had a lot of fun and would love to see him in concert again.
Also, I wanted to give y’all an update on the Hoop. We recently hired new hoopies! Here is a picture of our new babies. I am looking forward to getting to know them.
I’ll leave you with that for this week. I’ll be posting about my trip next week.
Wish me luck!
