First Semester classes are over! Wellesley is now observing Reading Period, five days with no classes for students to focus on studying for finals and finish the semester strong. I can’t believe my first semester of college is nearly over – a week from now I’ll be on a plane heading back home to Tokyo!

It’s what’s going to keep me going these next few rough days. I know all of you Seniors in high school out there are going through an equally (no, I’d say more) stressful time what with ED and EA decisions coming out soon

Things to keep in mind this winter season:

•have fun – enjoy your last winter break as a high school student.

•dedicate time to serving others, bettering yourself
look for volunteering opportunities in your neighborhood, and take this time to get to know your community more.

•EA/ED awaiting students — whether you’ve applied to Wellesley or not, be ready for the response whatever it may be.

•support your friends and other classmates when they find out about their schools. Rejection is hard, acceptance is exciting. Be there for your friends who need support, encourage them, and celebrate with the ones who have results to be happy about!

on that note…

•start working on your next round of essays for January deadline schools NOW! Don’t leave it all until the end. I can confidently say that you will regret this.

•still don’t know if you want to go to Wellesley? IT’S OKAY..
This time last year I did not think I would end up at Wellesley. But one way or another I was destined to get to this point, and I am so grateful for the opportunity.

feeling sassy after finishing my last class of the semester..

Best of luck with your own finals, finishing up apps, and just the rest of high school in general.
