You know when you have a bunch of stuff you’re looking forward to, and they all seem to be happening all at once? And then it all starts happening and it’s kind of overwhelming but then again it’s also like woah, we’re already here?? No? Anyone?
I spent the entire past month or so anticipating this week and the next. I’ve been constantly busy and “doing stuff” this entire semester, but it feels like I’ve been the most active (still haven’t gone to the new gym, the KSC, though) this past couple weeks. All good things but all at once!!

On Sunday, I saw Madeon perform live at the House of Blues in Boston. ’twas a weird crowd and a short set, and Maedon was SO young – i’m not kidding he looked like he could’ve been in high school – but the music was good, and i got to see my friends from back home. Earlier that day, I went to the Boston Common for the Japan Festival. Ate some great (but overpriced) food and spent some time with other Japan friends. Missed them tons and I won’t see some of them for a really long time – I’M GOING TO DENMARK NEXT SEMESTER FOR STUDY ABROAD!!!!!!! but more on that next week – but I love that we’re all settling well in to our college lives our second year here, and that they live relatively close so we always have the option of comfort in seeing each other.

The Ruhlman Conference happened on Tuesday. Ruhlman is a “celebration of student achievement” – individual and group presentations as well as exhibits take place all over campus, and it is open to the Wellesley community and the public.

My Professor, classmates and I organized a presentation called Hear Me Moan: A Speak-out on Sexual Pleasure and Desire. We collected anonymous submissions of stories from members of the Wellesley community – students and professors – and read them aloud at the conference. We then had an open discussion on why it’s important for everyone, especially women, to talk about and recognize our sexual desires and pleasures, and our rights to our sexuality.

Wednesday was my roommate and soul sista’s birthday – we went to Thelonious Monkfish, a Japan-Jazz fusion restaurant in Central Square (40ish minutes by bus from Wells). We’d gone there together with another friend during our first month at Wellesley last year. Look at this throwback pic!!! We look really young even thought it was just a little over a year ago… the pic of us on the right is at the end of summer. We look a little different since then, too – I’d post a pic for comparison but I realized that Kat and i don’t take a lot of cute pictures together anymore. We are always together (in our room, usually) so there really isn’t a need. The gross selfies though, we have those in abundance.

Wellesley without Kat for me would be a drastically different experience. We’ve been at eachother’s sides since literally day 1. and we’ll be apart next semester but i know we’ll be there for one another til the last day too.
