Hello, and welcome back to my blog! If you’re new here let me take a second to reintroduce myself. My name is Lynsey and I am a junior at Wellesley majoring in Economics and minoring in Philosophy.
Winter break has officially ended and classes are back in session. We had a longer winter break this year (+2 weeks) and it was definitely time well spent. I spent most of the break in Miami, but I also visited Hawaii (following all the COVID precautions). The state of Hawaii requires that people get a negative COVID test 72 hours before their plane departure and that you continue to wear a mask for your stay. Once I was in Hawaii, my group and I went to the beach, amazing hikes, and tried the best foods!
While I was in Hawaii, I also completed the virtual Hive internship I had mentioned prior to the break. My internship was with the Wellesley College Investment Office, and it was an incredible experience. I worked on the Seed Investment research team and at the end of the four weeks we presented our research to the entire team. We were able to hear from accomplished speakers and learn more about the college’s endowment.
In Miami, I spent most of my time enjoying the beach and the holidays. Now that the semester is back in session, I am mostly home working on coursework, and exercising. This term I am taking three courses (one of which goes for the entire semester), so it’s a pretty heavy course load but fortunately, I like my classes! (it makes a huge difference)
As previously mentioned, I’m part of the Agora Society on campus, and today we had our open house! It was so much fun seeing so many familiar and new faces, as well as getting to chat with some new people! We’ll be having our tea season (application process) over the next few weeks and I am really looking forward to meeting more new people from W.
Best,
Lynsey
