Hi everyone! This week has been quite nice. Despite having a midterm tomorrow, I spent this weekend with family celebrating my cousin’s birthday and took some time to relax. I also took time to study in case you were worrying about my midterm tomorrow.
My cousin who moved to Miami in the midst of COVID turned 26 this weekend. We celebrated by going to her favorite restaurant called Planta, which is fully vegan (she’s vegetarian), and by spending Sunday at the beach. I was very surprised by the food at Planta and actually really enjoyed the spicy “tuna” roll I ordered. At her birthday dinner, we actually realized that we hadn’t seen each other once since she’s moved to Miami.
I absolutely love being able to be in Miami while still taking courses remotely. Of course, there are so many aspects of Wellesley that I miss and I wish we could return back to normal on-campus (no-COVID) everything. But, I think it’s important to focus on the good aspects of every situation. So although I can’t be on-campus, I am able to spend time with my family and friends in Miami, enjoy (arguably) nicer weather, and create more of my own schedule with the term system. Last semester, I spend about 6 weeks with my sister and her boyfriend in NYC and that was such a great experience that I would have never been able to experience if not for remote learning. Lately, I’ve actually been considering going back up to NYC for a few weeks again; however, I think I’ll hold off on that till I’ve spent some more time in Miami (and let NYC get a bit warmer before I head back haha).
I’ve also decided to incorporate something new into my posts every week. I figured it would be a fun idea for me to include a song of the week in each of my posts with just a song that I am listening to that week, and if you like you can check it out and see if you vibe with it too. So this week’s song is: Dani California x Say So Mix (on Soundcloud).
I hope you all have a lovely week!
Best,
Lynsey
