Hi! I am officially finished with finals for term 1 and enjoying the week break we have before term 2. It is such a great feeling to be done with finals and have a week to recharge! All of my finals went pretty well. Starting Friday night (after my last final), I’ve been able to explore the city a bit then I previously was able to. For the next week, I am planning to go to New Hampshire with one of my friends to go hiking and enjoy fall in a quaint town.
As someone from Miami, FL, I am not very accustomed to fall and winters. I really enjoy being able to experience all four seasons in the Northeast, but it does get hard sometimes on those gloomy days and when the seasonal affectiveness disorder starts to kick in. Taking vitamin D and making extra time for the things I enjoy are some of the ways I’ve been able to pick myself up and lift my mood during the fall and harsh winters. I am very proud to say though that in the past two years of being at Wellesley, I’ve really heightened my tolerance for cold temperatures. Both of my parents were raised in New York and before leaving off to college they told me to always remember to layer! layer! layer! for the winters (it helps so much!). Aside from this, I love watching the leaves change colors and enjoy all the apple cider donuts I can during fall. Thinking about fall really makes me miss campus. I think Wellesley has such a beautiful campus, but it’s honestly the best during the fall when the weather is still nice and when the leaves begin to change colors (spring is also really pretty too though!)
Next week, I’ll talk about the fun activities my friend and I kept ourselves busy with for the week.
Best,
Lynsey
