Finals & Internship Real Talk

Hello! Let’s just put it this way, finals week is hitting hard! This term has been pretty nice such that I’ve been able to balance academics and free time very well. Then, finals week came along and hit like a trainwreck. I am partly joking and partly not. On the bright side, it’s just one week of full focus mode, then we have a week of spring break.

I am really looking forward to the break as a good time to relax and also begin preparing for my internship this summer. Looking back to when I was applying for internships, I genuinely had no idea about where to start; however, I reached out to a few friends of mine a year above me who secured internships in firms I was interested in and they were able to guide me through the process. I also reached out to and spoke with so many alumnae who work in finance, and honestly every alumnae I spoke with was incredibly nice and willing to help. It really gave me a sense of the strong alumnae network Wellesley often highlights. Not to mention, it gave me a sense of the amazing careers people go into after Wellesley. I was able to learn more about the ins and outs of finance recruitment and gained a better sense of what I’d like my career path to look like. All this being said, now other students from Wellesley have reached out to me over this year seeking help in the finance recruiting process. I genuinely love helping others who are in a similar situation as I was just a year ago navigate the process and learn more about finance. It’s a nice system of each person helping those a year below them and those people helping those below them.
