Kickboxing!

This week is off to a great start. There’s no particular reason for this (I sort of wish there was), but I think it’s all just about mentality. I am thinking it could be in part to my workout this Sunday for my PE class this term (fusion fitness). The class is structured a bit like an independent study which I really appreciate. Essentially, instead of doing our workouts over zoom, we have two hour workout assignments each week that we need to complete before our next meeting. I really enjoy the class because it offers a lot of flexibility to choose what workout you’d like to do and when. I completed my workouts on Sunday which I think may be part of my heightened positive outlook going into this week. For the past week’s assignment, we had to complete two workouts from a fitness website. I did kickboxing which was super exhilarating and difficult. I kept pushing through because I made it a game for myself to get through the video; In 10 mins, I’ll think about quitting. Then once I got to those 10 mins, I’d tell myself another 10 mins then I consider it. But then, once I finished the whole video I felt so accomplished. I think I went a bit too hard in the first 10 minutes and didn’t pace myself out for the 50 minutes.

 

I had my first test of the term last Friday for my trade policy, and have a presentation for my games of strategy course due this Friday, so the term is definitely moving along. Also, I found out last week that my internship this summer will now be in person! I am so excited, and have been spending time looking for apartment to sublease.

 

This past weekend, I went out on a nice dinner date with my parents and we got oysters (one of my favorites!) Also, I watched the movie Promising Young Woman with my boyfriend over zoom. It was a pretty good movie and had a few twists and turns. I really liked the message and recommend it.
