Hello again!! I just finished my second week of junior year, and while this year looks a bit different because of COVID-19 and remote instruction, it’s going by pretty fast. I am back home in Miami, FL, which has been nice because of the warm weather and good Hispanic food.
Essentially, Wellesley decided to break this semester up into 7-week terms where we take 2 courses each term, as opposed to the typical 16-week semester with 4 courses. I know the term system has been a bit overwhelming, but I’ve been a huge fan. I really appreciate that more group work has been incorporated into our courses in order to build more community during remote instruction. This term, I am taking two of my Economics courses and I am planning on taking an Economics and Political Science course in the next term. So far, in both of my courses my professors have been so accessible for office hours/questions via email or zoom meetings, and really understanding of the situation we’re all in!!
I am a member of the Agora Society, or Wellesley’s Political Science Society. Societies at Wellesley are really just large orgs on campus that have an academic affiliation to them, and also provide students the opportunity to bond through social events. This Sunday, we have our open house for any students who want to learn more about the tea (application) process to different societies. I am always so excited about tea season because I get to meet new people on campus and see Agora grow bigger!! Aside from our open house, I am going to the beach with a few of my friends from home and catching up on some work I have to do for next week!
Best,
Lynsey
One of my favorite things to do while over quarantine in Miami is head over to the beach to watch the sunrise, here’s a picture from this weekend!
