The Road Less Traveled & Fluffy Pancakes

Hi! Term 2 is now in full swing, and we’re only in the first week. I am registered for two courses, one Economics and one Political Science course. However, I am considering dropping one of my courses because the term system is very overwhelming and I’ve been working pretty hard since before the summer. Over the summer, I was very busy with recruiting for a summer internship for the following summer and taking summer courses. I looked over Wellesley’s degree requirements and due to some 0.5 unit courses and summer courses I’ve taken I’d still be able to graduate in time.

For a while, I was scared of deviating from a normal path for someone my age group, like by taking a gap year or taking 3 courses during one semester. Being in college, I’ve learned that it’s more important to do what’s right for you at that moment. Personally, taking one course this term would really allow me to have a more balanced every day. My point is: don’t be afraid to do something unconventional (albeit, taking 3 or 5 courses during one semester isn’t that unconventional at Wellesley) One of my close W friends took a gap year and it was one of the best experiences of her life.

On another note, I went to go fluffy pancakes from Taiyaki today, and they were amazing! I got the matcha pancakes and they’re now one of my favorite desserts (after chocolate lava cakes). There’s a Taiyaki in Boston and I can’t wait to go once I am back on campus!

Best,

Lynsey
