Hello! Salut!
‘Tis the start of another year of Wellesley adventures and I’m happy to share them with you! 🙂 If you followed my blog last year: welcome back! If you did not:
My name is Lori and I’m a junior at Wellesley – that makes me a member of the royal purple Class of 2014 (I really care about my class color and you’ll find out why that is the case in my blog)
I’m majoring in Psychology and French Cultural Studies, love children, and intend to work in the fields of public health and public policy in the future.
Before coming to Wellesley three years ago, I attended the United World College of the Atlantic in Wales. I describe myself as a Third Culture Kid but call Lagos, Nigeria home. I’ll discuss my experience as an ex-UWCer and an international student in this blog.
I am an e-board member of the Wellesley African Students Association, contribute to the French department newsletter La Petite Wendy and I’m in the arts and music society Tau Zeta Epsilon. In addition to that, I blog, work in the Admission Office as a student assistant and volunteer at the Child Study Center. Though it seems like I do a lot – and I must admit that I can be overwhelmed at times – I really enjoy everything I do and wouldn’t change a thing.
I’m writing this blog for three reasons:
-I intend to keep you updated on what’s happening at Wellesley College
-I want to tell prospective applicants what it’s like to be a student here so that they can determine if Wellesley is the place for them
-I hope that my blog will help international readers and international prospective students get a better sense of what life is like at Wellesley when one is thousands of miles away from home
As you read my posts every week, I hope that you’ll find that I achieve those purposes. I look forward to a fun junior year, hope that you’ll enjoy reading about my adventures and that you’ll comment on my posts once in a while! 🙂
Until next time,
This was me Lori x
