I’m back in Northern Ireland! I had an incredible winter break in the States and Mexico, and I am now back in Europe enjoying my last days of freedom before the start of my second semester abroad. A lot of my friends are leaving in about a week at the official end of the first semester, so we packed up our bags and flew to Edinburgh, Scotland. Edinburgh is only a forty-minute flight away from Belfast, so the trip was easy and relaxed. I loved Edinburgh. It was beautiful, with incredible architecture and history, as well as easy access to wonderful nature spots. I liked it enough that I might even go back before too long.
In addition to traveling, I also have a long to-do list to accomplish as soon as possible. I have been slowly moving through it, but this coming week I must go in turbo mode and attempt to do everything before the end of the month. My list ranges from food shopping, to writing this blog, to editing my pictures and videos, to studying. It’s a lot, but I believe I can do it! Wish me luck.
My modules for the upcoming semester are not set in stone yet, but I am currently enrolled in the following:
Ethics, Power, and International Politics
Criminal Law
Study of World Religions
I am looking into maybe doing an internship, as well as considering other modules I might take instead. I am pretty excited for what I have in line right now, though. I am not entirely sure what to expect from Criminal Law or even World Religions, but they should be a nice addition to my repertoire.
The weather has been very nice recently! It is definitely colder than when I left the UK in December. The rain froze over the streets and pavements last week, and I could be found slipping down all over the place. It is still warmer than back in Boston, however, and I am glad for that. After seven of those winters, I was really looking forward to changing it up this year. No walking to work in -20°F weather for me this winter!
P.S. The Trump Inauguration is today. Yeah…
