Happy New Years and Playing Catch-Up

Happy New Years! I hope you were all able to welcome 2016 with your friends and family. I spent Christmas at my mom’s in Texas, then went down to Mexico to celebrate New Years Eve with family and old friends.

My life has consisted of lots of sleeping and lots of knitting in between lunch and coffee dates with all the people I don’t get to see while I’m at Wellesley. Now that the holidays are over, however, I plan on becoming a little more productive. On my bucket list for the following weeks are:

1. Reading—I don’t get to read for pleasure as much since I started out at Wellesley.

2. Knitting—A few family members have asked for some items.

3. Studying Chinese—I want it to be fresh in my mind when I go back to Wells.

4. Writing—I have not done it for a while, but there was a time I dreamt of being a writer.

I am so happy to finally have some extra time to focus on things I have been wanting to focus on. It is also nice to get some stress-free time to get started on my New Year’s resolutions. I’ve tried to keep them do-able this year, but I admit I tend to go a bit crazy when I think them up. I have tried to stir away from resolving to change my entire life and instead just make a few positive changes.

My priority this year will be writing on my Passion Planner, as I believe it will lead to the rest of my goals getting done. In case you have not heard of Passion Planners, I encourage you to look it up. A college grad came up with the idea when she realized how lacking regular planners are. I am so excited to use it this year in order to better keep track of my days and hopefully procrastinate less.

I have started looking into getting a new computer. The one that I currently have has had a few problems, and I am afraid I will lose important documents if I don’t replace it. I am thinking of switching to a Microsoft tablet, so I will let you know my stance on the Mac v. PC debacle once I get to use it at Wellesley.

Lastly, I wanted to let you know I have been looking into study-abroad stuff. I am so excited to go abroad next year! I will update you as I continue the process of applying.

I assume you are probably starting your second semester this week. Best of luck!
