Disclaimer: It is highly probable that parts of this might be confusing, as I was really freaking tired when writing this. Sorry in advance.
I am exhausted. Spring Break could not come soon enough. I am walking around all zombie-like, struggling to open my more than the bear minimum. If you have been reading my blogs long enough, you have probably noticed that I struggle to get enough sleep. I had been really good about it at the beginning of this semester, but classes have grown increasingly more demanding and sometimes late nights cannot be helped [disclaimer: if you are someone who needs 8 hours of sleep a night, I know some people can and do pull it off… I just have no idea how. You probably already have habits that make this possible, though.] Although Spring Break will begin with a pretty hectic weekend including plane travel and a short road-trip, it will all be worth it when I finally arrive to Disney World. Disney was such a huge part of my childhood, and visiting Disneyland with my family was one of my favorite things in the world. I am beyond excited to finally go to Disney World to see which one really reigns supreme. Anyway, despite the hectic weekend, the week promises to be quiet and relaxing, and also include just a tiny bit of schoolwork.
Despite my lack of sleep, however, I do have some great news. I got the summer job I wanted! I am extremely excited to spend my summer in Boston for the first time since I moved here seven years ago. I have not officially accepted, but only because I have to make sure my summer job dates and study abroad dates won’t interfere with each other. I will tell you more about the organization once I am officially in, and I will keep you updated on study abroad plans—sadly, I have not heard back from the Belfast program.
I haven’t really done anything exciting lately, so I will tell you a little bit about food at Wellesley instead. Wellesley has this awesome meal plan that allows you to go into the dining halls (any of them) as often as you want. Only want a banana? Not a problem. I loved this about the meal plan at first, and everyone I have told this to is usually pretty jealous. However, I have to say that I have begun to dislike it a little bit. I have been cooking a lot of my own meals lately, and it bothers me that I still pay as though I was eating all my meals in the dining halls. Regardless, I do still appreciate the ability to walk into the dining hall whenever I want, even if it is only for a small snack or to use it as a place to study. Also, like I said, we are able to cook our own food. There are kitchenettes with stoves and sometimes even ovens, which are available for our use at any time. You do have to buy your own pans and ingredients, of course, as well as wash everything afterwards, but I happen to enjoy my homemade food more than the dining hall food. It is definitely worth it.
I believe decisions will be coming out soon. Wish you all luck!
