Welcome back to weekly updates from real Wellesley College students! It’s been a while since my last post… close to two months, I think! Not only that, but the past few weeks have been busy due to the simple fact that I am graduating! Like it or not I will be walking the walk in exactly four months. I will no longer be able to use to take cover under the ‘student’ label—at least not unless I return to school for a graduate program in the future. That’s pretty life-changing, isn’t it?
So the questions most people have for college students (seniors in particular) is “what are your plans for the future?” Now, I don’t have to tell you not to ask people this. All college students know they need to start figuring out their future, but the economy and job market are not on our side, so let them worry about it without outside pressure. However, I do have a general idea of what’s going to happen and I am just waiting for things to be finalised! Quick hints: it looks like I will be in Boston until the end of the summer then moving to a different country! That’s also pretty life-changing.
It’s exciting that things are starting to shape up, but before I get too ahead of myself I need to get through my very last term of my college career. Three days ago everything seemed to be up in the air, but as of today it is looking like my modules and commitments are starting to fit together. I am excited to be taking two classes at MIT this term! It is possible (maybe even likely) that I will not receive my diploma at graduation because of this decision, but this won’t affect my plans, so I am not too bothered! One of these classes will be a Spanish for Heritage Speakers class, which will hopefully get my Spanish back on track and prepare me for my post-college plans (there goes another hint!).
One thing I am set on doing this term is taking full advantage of the opportunities that Wellesley offers. This includes finishing some of the items on the Wellesley 50 list I wrote about last semester. Whoops. I’ll update you next Wednesday with my finished schedule and plans for the term!
