Should I Study or Should I Sleep?

There is only one week left in February. How in the world did that happen? Time is moving way to quickly.

I am very conscious of the crazy week ahead of me. It is the first midterm week of the semester, and I have so much work to do that I am not entirely sure I can do it. I will do it, of course, I always do, but it might cost me a few days of sleep and cause quite a bit of irritability. At least I have a few things to look forward to. Mainly, I am really looking forward to Spring Break. I honestly cannot believe it is right around the corner. I am going to visit my sister in Florida for a little over a week, and I cannot wait to see her! I am very excited to write my blog post about that week. Basically, I think it will consist of much sleep, a bit of studying, homework, and projects, and lots of chilling by the beach, reading for fun, and (most importantly) DISNEY. I am a huge Disney fan, but I have never been to the one in Florida. I am so excited to tell you all about it!

Anyway, my weekend felt pretty short. I took a long nap on Saturday that kind of messed up with my sleeping schedule, and now here I am at 1am on Monday morning and I am writing this blog post instead of sleeping or working on my essays or working on applications. We definitely need to figure out a better education system, but until then, I will be looking for spare time to practice my Chinese characters for my upcoming tests. I also have two essays to work on and a presentation for class, all of that on top of homework. You can probably tell I am a bit stressed about all the work I have yet to do, so I will keep this short.

The highlight of my weekend was dinner with my cousin on Sunday. She goes to BU med school, but we had yet to actually meet up despite living so close to each other! We grabbed dinner at Shake Shack in Harvard Square, then continued our conversation over tea. The Senate Shuttle schedule is very erratic—I missed the 9:40 pm and had to wait until 11:40 pm to head back to Wellesley. It was worth it, though. My cousin and I really had a chance to catch up and bond. When she had to leave, I messaged a Harvard friend and we hung out until the shuttle showed up.

I am still working out six times a week, and I am still loving it. It has gotten a tiny bit more difficult to fit the workouts in, especially since I am going to bed later and it is therefore harder to wake up early. However, I have so far been able to do them all. The resistance training this week was intense, and I was sore enough that going up and down the stairs was uncomfortable. It was a great feeling. I have also started to prepare some of my own meals. I am not sure whether I mentioned this already or not, but I sometimes feel like the food in the dining halls can be a little to greasy for me, especially since I am diabetic. I’ve started making my own dinners, usually consisting of an egg burrito. The stove works great, though it does seem to take a bit longer than it would at home. I also had to buy my own pans and ingredients, etc., but I am happy with how it is going. I am considering baking some apple crisps in the future. I will let you know how that turns out.

I also posted about Wellesley on my personal blog recently. Check out what the campus looks like in the winter! Good luck on your own studies, and I hope to see you here next Tuesday.
