It’s November?!

Hello hello!

Course registration for Spring 2019 is tomorrow for sophomores, which means this semester is flying by as usual!

This is my favorite time of year at Wellesley. With Tanner last Tuesday, Halloween on Wednesday, and then my birthday this past Friday, I’ve had such a memorable last week! Not to mention, the campus currently looks like an autumnal paradise, which I (sadly) realize won’t last, as the weather gets more chilly each week.

This was from my lake walk on Sunday… just look at the trees! (Also worth mentioning, there’s no filter, just golden hour!)

Today I thought I’d talk about WZLY, the Wellesley College radio. This semester, I am an intern for WZLY, with the goal of getting my own show next semester. The intern process has been pretty chill for the most part. It’s consisted of attending a few trainings, shadowing current DJs to see how they prepare and run their shows, and shelving records in the studio. I still have to take a written exam, as well as host a 15 minute on-air radio show supervised by a senior member of WZLY. If all goes well, I’ll have a show next semester!

Additionally, each member of WZLY must join a committee. There are committees for different interests, such as recording the studio podcast, planning campus events, shelving records, managing the tech in the station, and more. I’m in the news committee, which records a podcast during the semester! The theme we’re focusing on this semester is “Rejection” and what that entails in our lives at Wellesley, and otherwise. Once the podcast is recorded, edited, and completed, it’ll be up on Podbean and iTunes – I’ll post the link once it’s done, so you all can listen!

Other than that, it’s just a waiting a game for Thanksgiving break right now. I’m going back home, and I can’t wait!

We’re almost there,

Shreya
