Musings & Finals Szn

10 days 17 hours 07 minutes and 47 no 46 seconds until I am done with the fall semester of my sophomore. It’s wild how fast it has gone by and a little unnerving that there is so little time left. I still have so much left to do: buy Christmas gifts for friends and family, write essays, study for exams and pack up to go home. To be honest, I am worried about going home. I have been home for longer than 5 days since last December which means I have been constantly and consistently with my best friends since then. What am I going to do in my own room and not in a bunk bed? Who am I going to go on late night target runs with on Fridays because #yolo (I’m looking at you, Lilly)? What will I do without Professor Hajj’s consistently amazing and hysterical Comparative Politics class? I get it, I sound dramatic. I’m coming back in six short weeks and I still have to get through finals. It’s just hard leaving your second home. A home filled only with things you like to learn, like to do and people you love.

In the meantime, I’m trying to make the most of what is left in the semester. Saturday night Agora (the political society on campus that I am a part of) had its winter formal with the other societies on campus (you can find out more about societies here). It was a nice way to round out the semester before the brunt of finals season hits. We took pictures, had amazing food from El Table, one of the student-run co-ops, and then danced the night away. I also planning on going into Boston at least a couple more times before I head back to the slightly less exciting Upstate New York, but we shall see if I manage to fit that into my already packed schedule.

Overall, I feel pretty torn about leaving for winter break as you can probably tell from the random smattering of anecdotes in this post. I promise that next week’s post will be more interesting!

xoxo,

caroline
