Okay, I’m going to try and be perky for you guys – my Mondays are sort of long and my petals are already drooping. Let’s see; so far, I’ve done some reading, been to class, printed and dropped off an application, lunched with a friend, and now I’m blogging in the admissions office. After this, I know there will be a meeting, a film screening, my night class – whew! I’m going to try and insert a nap in there.
I stayed up pretty late doing homework last night, which isn’t usually my style – I love my sleep! No regrets though, some pretty interesting happenings kept me busy this weekend. On Friday, the Wellesley Association of South Asian Cultures (WASAC) put on their annual culture showcase Shruti Laya. I went to see my friend perform and got a great show! Ohhh, and there was food, so I got to try some new things.
Saturday I got the opportunity to meet more women in the area at a mixer with the Association of Black Harvard Women, the Black Women’s Association at MIT, and my organization, Ethos. It was really nice to meet some new people, and if I need some directions around Harvard’s campus next weekend on the day of the Harvard/Yale game, I’ll know who I can ask!
Last night I went to a Project End celebration for Sed Ministrare, a wonderful service org at Wellesley that was begun and is led by one of my dear friends. They presented over $5000.00 to Partners in Health! So all and all, a fulfilling weekend was worth some coffee today.
