It’s finals week! Yippee! I’m not being totally sarcastic either. Finals means that it’s almost time to be reunited with family and old friends, to take a breather and enjoy the break. For those of us that celebrate the holidays that fall around this time, doing so is awesome!
Okay, so the next month and a half will go sort of like this – the semester will officially end on the 20th, though many people, myself included, are going home days earlier. We all get a break through the end of December. Then, in January, Wintersession begins. Wintersession is a roughly three-week period with a myriad of possibilities. You can go abroad (the cost is covered by the tuition you’ve paid for the rest of the year). I have some friends who are going to Morocco, and others who will spend the break in Ghana (I’m actually really jealous). You can take a class at Wellesley – it’s a good time to get a language requirement finished or learn everything you wanted to know about beer (seriously). You could work – somebody has to be here in admissions to collect applications in January, for example. Or, you could do what I’m going to do – sit at home and apply to summer internships. I’m going to visit my Wellesley friends and my high school buddies, and generally live in the lap of luxury. I’d rather be in Ghana though.
I could see this if I were going to Ghana. *pouts and kicks self for not applying by deadline*
