School Year Winding Down

This week one year ago, I visited Wellesley for the first time. I’d applied here early decision two without visiting and I probably didn’t know how to spell Massachusetts. I remember thinking campus was peaceful, beautiful, and I was excited to envision myself here. And now it’s been a year and so much has happened! I seriously cannot believe a year of college is almost over. I’m terrible at living in the moment.

Next week is my last week of classes and then reading period, where everyone prepares for final exams and projects. I have to revise a paper for my first year writing class and take two exams for my macroeconomics and stats class. Then I have to pack up my dorm, put some of my stuff into storage, and I’m flying back home for the summer. Next academic year, I plan to live on the east side of campus in the Chinese Corridor, a corridor where students taking Chinese classes can live and participate in Chinese culture events. I will update on how that goes…

Some other updates: my birthday was this past week! I had dinner in town with my friends and got a birthday gift in the mail from my family. Though it was my first birthday away from home, it was still fun. Fall 2023 course registration was also this week and I registered for Multivariable Calculus, Chinese, and two Econ classes. But I might drop one of my Econ classes and take another course instead because the total workload might be a bit too much. There is a course add/drop period in June that is super useful.

Then here is the question every college student dreads: what am I doing this summer? I am traveling to Asia and I’m super excited about that. I also plan to take an asynchronous online statistics course that Wellesley offers while I travel.

My next post will be my last of this academic year and I will write about my takeaways from college and any advice that I have. Thank you for reading 🙂
