Winter Break and a New Semester!

Happy New Year and new semester! Spring semester began this week, though it certainly feels much colder than spring right now. It’s been snowing this week, which has slowed down my walks to classes.

My winter break was very relaxing and I loved being back home. I spent the break hanging out with friends, watching TV, reading books, practicing driving (yes I still don’t have my drivers license, let’s not talk about it), forcing my cat to cuddle with me, going to Wisconsin one weekend, and figuring out plans for this summer.

I also spent time researching the Data Science major at Wellesley. I’m still considering either majoring in Data Science with a concentration in Economics (what a mouthful) or majoring in Economics and minoring in Stats. I switched to Econ 103, but then I woke up to an email last week saying that the section of Econ 103 I was in got canceled! So Monday morning, I had to re-register for the last section of Econ 103. I also registered for a PE yoga class, so now my schedule is cemented. I have three back-to-back classes on Tuesdays and Fridays which is brutal, but not having any classes on Wednesdays makes up for it.

I still agree with my spring semester goals that I mentioned in my last post: work hard to do well in my classes and try to step out of my comfort zone personally, whether that means joining a club or making new friends. I am considering joining WZLY, the student radio station at Wellesley and I’ll update if I follow through with that. I will also add two goals: one is that I will try to fix my sleep schedule, because I was sort of nocturnal during winter break. The second is going to KSC, the sports center, more regularly. Towards the end of last semester, I started swimming laps about once a week and I’m going to try to continue that regularly, and go to the fitness center too. These personal, academic, and fitness goals are kind of ambitious for me, but I’m confident I can make at least some progress in all three! We will see…

Thanks for reading and I will include photos from this week!

My adorable cat, I miss him 🙁

Peanut butter cookies that I baked (they tasted better than they looked, which sort of sums up my cooking)
