Hello everybody!
I hope your weeks are going well. I am finally settling into my new schedule and am getting used to my routine at Wellesley again. This semester I didn’t get into all the classes I hoped, but now I am happy with my schedule. I will be taking CHEM 105, PHYS 107, MATH 205, and ECON 101. The Chemistry class is a lab, so it is a big time commitment. I am not great at Chemistry, so this is the one class I am rather worried about. It is an intro-level class, so I’m hoping for the best The physics class is Classical Mechanics with a lab. I love Physics, and I am excited about this class. The Math class is Multivariable Calculus and it promises to be difficult. The economics class I am taking to fulfill a distribution requirement, so I didn’t have big expectations for it. However, I really like the professor (his name is Patrick McEwan) and the material looks interesting, so I have become kind of excited about it.
I am also going to be working and doing research this semester. I will continue writing for the blog, working at the Children’s Day Care Center, and grading for the physics class I took last semester. The research I will be doing is a part of the First year Apprentice Program at Wellesley. The idea of this program is to give first years the opportunity to ‘shadow’ research groups at Wellesley and learn what it means to do research on campus. I will be shadowing a professor from the Mathematics department, but I don’t yet know the details of what I will be doing (I will update you when I know more!).
Anyway, this last week was really snowy, so I spent some time outside, playing in the snow with some of my friends. Wellesley’s campus is beautiful at all times, but there’s something particularly fascinating about it when it is covered with snow. The snow is gone now, but I really had fun while it lasted!
That’s it for now from me. Stay safe!
