A Hectic Thursday

Hi Blog Readers! Today, I want to write about a busy Thursday I had a few weeks ago.

My Thursday began early with my 8:30am economics class. I am kind of contradictory in the sense that I love how peaceful early mornings are but also simultaneously like to be a night owl – these two traits are not very compatible! I got up for this class and made the walk over to the Academic Quad where this class is.

After econ, I walked over to the Science Center (Sci), where my next class is. My next class does not begin until 11am. So, I found a cozy spot in Sci and used this extra time to respond to emails, look over my past notes, and do any extra work that I had.

I then had my next class, a statistics class, which is primarily lecture-based. After stats, I headed over to eat lunch at Bates Dining Hall, the closest dining hall to Sci. Bates always gets super busy around this time because of all the students coming from Sci, so the lines can get quite long!

I was done with classes this day, but I had to go to work for my research assistant job next. As a research assistant, I have to go in-person to my lab’s offices to do coding of interview transcripts! The lab office is located in a building off our main campus. I usually walk to the office, and it takes me about fifteen minutes to get there. There are also escort vans that other students call to get there. I walked to the lab office and did coding from about 1:30–4:00pm. I really enjoy coding interview transcripts because it is qualitative coding, which is new to me. After work, I took the escort van back to my dorm with a few other research assistants and ate an early dinner.

Then that evening, I walked to the Academic Quad once more for an hour-long executive board meeting for Art History Club. This was our first meeting of the semester and we just caught up and started planning out a timeline of our events this semester.

And finally, I was done with my day!

I love to watch people’s day-in-the-life videos, so I hope that this post emulates that. All in one day, you can see some major elements in the life of a Wellesley student: classes, work, and clubs! Thank you for reading!
