Back from break

Hello everyone!

Just like that, Spring Break is over. I had such a great and relaxing time that I wish we had at least a few more days of break. I stayed on campus for it, while most of my friends went home or away for a while. The first Sunday of the break was the day of the St. Patrick’s Day parade in Boston. I have never been to the parade before, so I had a lot of fun there with some friends. People around had so much energy that it was impossible to not feel that energy myself. I am still kind of confused as to the nature of that holiday, but I absolutely did enjoy my time there. Plus, we got some good food at a Japanese restaurant in the city, so that’s definitely a win.

On Monday I made plans with some classmates to watch some movies at night in the TV room of Tower Court. We felt like watching a sad movie, so we watched Aftersun. It was about the relationship between a father and his young daughter while on a vacation abroad. I did shed some tears, so it was indeed a sad movie. To get into a better mood after that, we watched the 2005 Pride and Prejudice movie, a classic and one of my old time favorites.

I am a big racing fan, so I was following the Formula 1, Nascar, MotoGP, and Indycar races throughout the weekends. They were at all sorts of convenient and inconvenient hours of the day, so my sleep schedule during the two weekends was a little…interesting, hah. I also started reading the new Hunger Games book that came out. I am really loving it so far!

I went into Boston a few times throughout the week. I got some new spring clothes because I realized I didn’t have enough T-shirts and stuff after spending last semester in rainy and foggy Edinburgh and the last few months with constant negative temperatures (Celsius!). I also went to Haymarket, which is a street market in Boston where they sell rather cheap fruits and vegetables.

As for the last few days since classes started, I am reunited with my friends that came back from break. We have been catching up, and life is getting back to the routine. See you again next week!
