Dear Wellesley Class of 2029

Hi Blog Readers! Wellesley regular decision results came out recently, so congratulations to any admitted students reading this!! You should be super proud of yourselves and your hard work for this accomplishment, and for making it through the college application process. I thought it would be useful to make this post about some ways to prepare for Wellesley in the next few months if you are committed here:

Connect with the college and other committed students! You will receive emails from the college and the Admission Office about upcoming events they are hosting for the new Wellesley Class of 2029 to connect with each other and learn more about life here. I remember attending a really helpful Zoom Q&A event soon after committing here. This summer, there should also be many fun virtual events hosted by the Wellesley First-Year Orientation team. Also if your hometown or home country has a Wellesley Alumnae Club Chapter, they will often host in-person gathering events in the summer for incoming students to meet with current students and alumnae. Here is the Wellesley Alumnae Association page where you can look up your nearest Alumnae Club Chapter!

I think that social media is the other best way to connect with other students. If you use Instagram, follow Wellesley College Instagram accounts, such as the official college account and the Admission Office account. And, I personally recommend checking out the unofficial Wellesley Class of 2029 Instagram account where committed students post and introduce themselves! That account is a great way to see if there are any other committed students who are from your hometown or share your interests. There should be similar Class of 2029 pages on Facebook as well if you prefer that. I followed the Wellesley Class of 2026 Instagram account when I was a high school senior, and I loved seeing who my future classmates would be. You can start following other students on Instagram and start DMing with them. However, do not feel pressure to make a bunch of friends right now though, you will have time to do that once you get to campus in the fall!

Soak up all the information you can about life at Wellesley. I know that when I committed to Wellesley, all I wanted to do was learn more about life here. Reading this blog and the posts written by my fellow bloggers and I is a great way to get a glimpse into both academics and student life here 😉 I also recommend looking up Wellesley on YouTube and TikTok to find videos made by students here to get another authentic perspective.

And my most important piece of advice: enjoy your last few months of senior year! I think some high school seniors get so caught up in college decisions that they forget to live in the moment and enjoy their senior year. So relax, have fun, and make the most out of this transitional period.

I hope this is useful and I will dedicate more blog posts to advice for the incoming Class of 2029! Thank you for reading and again, congratulations!
