Dorms I’ve had on campus 🛌

Hello blog 😊 We are halfway through July, which is absolutely insane! I am here this week to share with you some of the dorms that I’ve lived in every year at Wellesley, and since I’ve stayed here every summer, that means I’ve gotten to taste a plethora of different residential experiences. By the time I leave Wellesley, I will have lived in 7(!) different residence halls. These are just a few of the rooms I’ve had over the years. I hope this gives you good dorm decoration inspo 🖼️

McAfee 🕯️

A dorm room in McAfee with a bed and pink, white, and gray bedspread.

This was my first-year dorm! I promise I put posters up in that empty wall space between the vines and flowers lol. I lived in a double in McAfee. This dorm had a lot of space because my roommate and I each had our own closet, a vanity mirror built into the wall with cubbies and dressers, and cubby space that ran all along one of the walls (as you can see in the picture). My favorite part of living in McAfee was that it is connected to Bates Dining Hall, so you can walk downstairs and you’re in the dining hall!

Stone-Davis 🍓

During my sophomore year, I lived in a triple in Stone-Davis. I had beautiful stained glass windows that faced the lake/courtyard area. The ceiling was so high, and I had so much natural light spill into my room everyday. The location of Stone-Davis is nice because it’s close to a shuttle stop, it has the vegan, vegetarian, and kosher dining hall attached to it (and I’m vegan!), and it’s in a very happy medium place on campus because it’s close to the science center and the academic quad.

Pomeroy 🌱

A dorm room in Pomeroy with a bed in the corner and a collage of art on the walls.

Living in Pomeroy (aka Pom) was the first time that I had a single on campus. I lived in Pom during my second summer here at Wellesley when I was doing research through the Summer Social Science Research Program at Wellesley. It was the first time that I felt like I could go all out with decorating since I had the entire room to myself. I really love the community that Pom cultivates. It feels very homey and personal. I love the puzzle table that’s near the stairs when you walk into the building.

Claflin 🎠

An image of a dorm room in Claflin with a small raised area behind the bed with a desk and bookshelf in it.

This was my favorite room I’ve ever had here at Wellesley! This room in Claflin was recently renovated and it had a lofted area with stairs that I was obsessed with. This room was huge. I loved the configuration of it, how close it was to everything—the basement kitchen, a single stall bathroom, and the common room. I really lived out my long lost dream of becoming an interior designer with this room because of how well I was able to fill up this space.

I hope you enjoyed this dorm tour with me! I hope this allowed you to see yourself in a cozy dorm room at Wellesley 🧚‍♀️

Until next time ☺️

Warmly, Sofía ‘26
