Hi everyone!
Fall break was this past weekend, and it was a much needed rest (and time to catch up with work if you are a busy senior). Here are some of the things I did during this break:
1. My friends and I had an early Halloween inspired night. We reserved the TV room in Stone-Davis and watched some movies (Hocus Pocus and Twitches!!). We also got matching pajama bottoms (Snoopy inspired), played Avalon (our favorite board game, it’s kind of like Mafia), did arts and crafts (I did some coloring, which was very relaxing, while watching the movies), and made some fun snacks.

2. I did some studying at my carrel in the library, which is like a private desk at one of the libraries or the Science Center for people who are doing a thesis. Most people decorate them more, but I get distracted if there are too many things on my desk; this is why mine is rather boring. Mine is on the last floor of Clapp library, which also happens to be the quiet study floor, and is kind of hidden between the shelves.

Yes, the 4 different drinks were necessary
3. I went to Newport, RI with some friends on Monday. The city is around 1.5 hours away from Wellesley, and a friend drove us there. It was really rainy that day, so we went to explore two of the mansions there. Those are really big houses from rich and influential 19th and 20th century families. They were really grand and beautifully decorated, but I really can’t imagine how people lived there. I think some of the most popular Gilded Age movies and TV shows were filmed in them. We also went to a really cute restaurant (the ramen was so amazing!) and looked around the shops along the main street. I got a shot glass to contribute to my parents’ 200+ glasses collection from around the world.

That’s it from me this week. See you next week!
