Hello Blog,
I promised sentimentality this year, so here it comes. This was my last Wellesley College Fall Break! I guess every break from now on will be my last official “Wellesley College” break. Technically, this is my last 7th week of the fall semester. Anyway, fall break was this past weekend. Turns out, New York City was the popular Wellesley College get-away this year. I just came from my Chamber Music Society meeting, and there were 8 people there who went to NYC. A bit of advice–the Northeast Regional Amtrak is your best bet for affordable transportation to the city. My friends and I made the mistake of taking the 5 hour bus our first year. Not pleasant. But Amtrak is great! I’ve taken it probably almost 10 times now. NYC is a fun trip from Wellesley if you have a long weekend, and my friends and I try to go at least once a year. I’ll actually be taking the Amtrak this weekend to Connecticut!
But my fall break was pretty lowkey. I spent the entire time home spending time with my family. I ate great food, and I would like to personally thank whoever invented ready-made cookie dough. We also still had apples left over from apple picking last weekend, so we also made some crumble. We were hoping to go on a hike, but it was pretty rainy, so maybe next time. I won’t lie, this is a very busy semester for me. I took Saturday completely off and then spent almost all of the rest of break working on applications and work. It’s really nice to be close to my family and to live so close to my friends in my dorm. We’re busy, but there’s usually time to pop a bag of popcorn and catch up at the end of the night.
This week feels especially short (because it is)! I performed an entire movement of one of my recital pieces in my music seminar class today. The class is super supportive, so even though I get stressed performing still, hopefully by the time my recital comes around it’ll be easier. Tomorrow, I’m going to a Maggie Rogers concert in Boston with my friends, which should be really fun! I’m grateful to past me for getting tickets so I have something random and fun on a Thursday night. And then it’ll be Friday again! Stay tuned for concert pictures from the nosebleeds 🙂
Until next time,
