Go Red Sox?

Hello everybody!

New week, same old me. Let me start this blog with even MORE daffodils photos (yes, I am a superfan).

There has been so much going on on campus and around Boston recently that I feel like I have barely had a minute to relax this past weekend. On Friday there was a “Davis After Dark” event at the Davis Museum in Wellesley. The museum is in general very cool, but this event took it to the next level. There was live music from different orgs around campus, crafts stations, polaroid photos and cameras, photobooths, scavenger hunts, food, etc. Very cool stuff! I will be honest though, I spent almost all of my time at the scrapbooking table—gotta keep that wall decor up! I already have so much stuff on the walls of my room that a few more couldn’t have hurt.

On Saturday I went to not one, but two concerts on campus. One was the Yanvalou concert. Yanvalou is one of my favorite groups to watch perform—they do African dance and music as it exists today in Haiti and Brazil. The concert was absolutely amazing. My favorite part was the mash-up that they did with Aiko, the Japanese drumming org. The other one was the showcase by the Wellesley Choir. One of my friends invited me to go watch her perform. I was excited to see her there, especially since they were performing some Bulgarian folk songs. Exciting! I thought that their pronunciation was rather good—definitely not native, but still very impressive.

The most exciting part of the weekend though—I went to my first ever baseball game. Did I (or my friend for that matter) know anything about baseball before going there? Absolutely no. But did we have a lot of fun? Definitely yes. The Red Sox won against the Cardinals, so that was very exciting. We also got to witness a home run! I loved the energy of the crowd and thought that the sport can be very fun to watch.

That’s it from me for the week. See you next time!
