Hello again!

Hi everyone!

It’s me again! I can’t believe I get to document one more year of my journey at Wellesley. I have been doing this since my first semester at college, and I feel like I will look back at these long after I’ve graduated.

Hi!

As some of you might already know, my name is Vyara (she/her), I’m a current Junior at Wellesley, and I’m from Vratsa, Bulgaria. I’m a physics major and a mathematics minor. Here are some fun facts about me and my life at Wellesley. I really love reading books; currently, I’m going back and forth between Agatha Christie and Brandon Sanderson books. I love traveling, and I took a gap year before Wellesley where I did different volunteering projects around Europe. I’m involved with Slater, the international students society, at Wellesley. In addition, I work at the daycare center on our campus, as well as a tutor for different math and physics classes. My favorite class at Wellesley so far has been PHYS100 with Professor Katie Hall – it’s a really fun introductory class that teases lots of interesting physics fields and questions.

Oh, and one more thing that I probably should have mentioned earlier: I’m currently studying abroad for the semester at the University of Edinburgh in Edinburgh, Scotland. I arrived here a couple of weeks ago, and I have already started my classes. I’m taking astrobiology, quantum mechanics, fourier analysis, and electromagnetism, which I suspect will be as hard as it sounds, hah. I’m living in a private apartment in the city, which I share with my flatmate, another visiting student.

You can see Arthur’s seat, one of the biggest tourist attractions in the city, from my window.

I had a really fun Orientation week here with lots of fun events: from parties and drag queens to tours and sports classes.

I will definitely be telling you more about my experiences here in future blogs!
