I was in the 617.

Hey bloggies, welcome back to my super cool Blog. I hope all of you are having a splendid week. I’ll start off today’s post with a song to describe the vibe of this week. Charismatic by Hailey Knox, my new current favorite artist! She’s been on repeat recently and this is my top song of hers so far.

Beginning with last Thursday, after work, I enjoyed some fireworks on the rooftop of a mutual friend’s house for a July 4th-themed gathering. I invited an additional Wellesley friend who I know through Agora, Wellesley’s political society to the event, once I found out she was cat-sitting nearby. I facetimed all of my Agora tea-class besties to watch the fireworks with me! I made lots of new friends at the event as well. In conclusion, we got a great view of the boats shooting off the fireworks in the Charles River Esplanade below us and I grilled myself an absolutely delectable burger.

Avery loves rooftops.

Obligatory bad firework photo.

The next day, I biked to my favorite nearby Pizza place in Natick! The owner’s name is Imet. The first time I ever wandered into his shop a month ago, he asked for my favorite drink and gave it to me for free, just because! So naturally, I made that my go-to, ride or die, pizza spot and now gladly bike 6 miles round-trip just to support his small business over that one act of kindness. Also their food is just really good! Live Laugh Love Imet from Pizza Plus. I recommend the onion rings and cheese fries. 😉

On Monday night, the cognizance of my own free-will decided to enthusiastically increase and I found myself on a little adventure to Little Italy in Boston’s North End after work. Bova’s Bakery is the go-to, true resident Bostonian pastry shop, and I’ve always wanted to check it out throughout the year but never made plans to do so. But after I remembered I’m an adult with free time, no homework, and a sweet tooth, I spontaneously hopped on the train to Back Bay, took the orange line, and walked all the way to Bova’s and got a caramel cannoli and strawberry cheesecake. I fear my mouth stole any potential photo opportunities away from my actual camera unfortunately. Whoops. I can see why the line was around the block though, 10/10 sweet treat.

Lastly, I got to go to a ROOFTOP BARBECUE (omg) with my friends (same group) on Tuesday night! One friend bought the brisket, another bought the corn and chips, one made some homemade dip, the next brought a homemade spicy corn dip, and I bought a colorful assortment of peppers, an onion, soy sauce, and some brioche buns. My Parisian friend grilled the meat and eggplants, I grilled the peppers and onions with a custom 4 spice-soy sauce rub I made, while our friend from Missouri crafted the most scrumptious bruschetta I’ve ever had the privilege of tasting as a bruschetta hater. Two new girls who go to school in Qatar and Northeastern tagged along with the group for the very first time, and I got to make even MORE NEW FRIENDS. We all ate, laughed, and talked for hours until almost 12am. What a wonderful experience, I can’t wait to cook with them again, maybe we’ll open a restaurant. I’ll let you know.
