Late-Night Adventures: From J.P Licks to Sinners

Greetings, Lovely Readers!

Welcome back to my world! I’m back with the second installment of my blog, so I hope y’all are keen to get to peek inside my life a little more this week! So grab your snacks, pour yourself a cup of tea (y’all know I love my tea but of course no judgement if coffee is your thing ;), and get comfy. You’re about to dive into a day in my life—brace yourselves though, it’s about to be a crazy night adventure. I hope y’all are ready! Okay so our story begins at exactly 7:45 on a fateful Tuesday evening (the 17th of June to be exact). My friends and I are sitting in the car about to head to Coolidge Corner Movie Theatre to watch Sinners! For added context, this is my second time watching the movie (and no I’m not sick of it….). The drive to Coolidge Corner was so funny, we were reminiscing so much over our past year at Wellesley and just talking about all the crazy and wacky things that have happened to us while being at Wellesley. We also randomly started talking about the types of houses that we would want when we are older…I honestly don’t even know how the conversation got there but it was so random because at one point we started like house hunting while we were driving…As y’all have probably figured out my friends and I are very unserious people!!  We truly don’t take ourselves too seriously and every time we’re together, the conversation is bound to be full of laughs and jokes! Anyways back to the story….

So fast forward 25 minutes of driving and we arrived at the theatre ready and super excited to watch the movie…Okay, now we’ve reached the point where everything went completely left……We walked into the movie theater and asked for 5 tickets, only to find out that there were only 4 more seats available. Y’all when I say that as a group we went through like 5 emotions at once , I promise I’m not even exaggerating😂. First it was complete shock, then the laughter set in because we couldn’t believe what happened and also because we all collectively realized that we should have bought our tickets in advance.😭😭 (yeah I know we didn’t think that one through, 100%…. But in our defence we definitely didn’t anticipate that the movie would be completely full, especially because Coolidge Corner is kinda unknown compared to the AMC theatres that we have in Boston…) Anyways, as I said, we stood there for a few minutes really contemplating everything! So we headed outside the theater and started brainstorming…I mean we had come all that way and were so excited about the movie, so we were determined to find a way to still watch it! So, my friend Sofía starts going online to potentially see if there was another screening that we could get tickets for. Let’s just say AMC Framingham really pulled through for us…..we found a 9:45 showing and of course we stayed rooted to one spot and bought our tickets, because we weren’t about to have a part 2… So now we had like 2 hours of free time before the movie would be starting so we were all like what should we do and the answer was simple really.  ICE CREAM!

So we ended up at a really popular ice cream shop in Boston called J.P Licks! Y’all when I tell you I was so overwhelmed when I walked in…this was actually my first time trying J.P Licks and I could not decide what I wanted! There were so many different flavours to choose from and let’s just say I didn’t know that you could get that many variations of cookies ‘n’ cream ice cream! After like 10 minutes of us analyzing the menu, we decided what we really wanted. I ended up ordering a pink lemonade sorbet in a small cup. It was so good….I’m currently salivating whilst writing this guys. I have a picture that I took of what my friend Bri ordered, so I’ll show y’all below! We had a lot of fun, I am definitely a big foodie and I have a big sweet tooth as well, so I was definitely super happy!! After, we drove over to AMC in Framingham, and we had such a fun karaoke session in the car. I was on aux, and as y’all can probably tell by now, my music taste is IMMACULATE! We had Beyoncé’s Drunk in Love, Rihanna’s Diamonds and J-Cole Role Modelz…so we had a time for sure! The whole night was honestly such an adventure, we ended up getting back from the movie at like 12:30 in the morning. I did have to get up the next morning at 7:00 am for work, but it was honestly so worth it. I had such an amazing time with my friends so I would definitely do it all again!🥹

We didn’t realize that Chelsea could jump this high… 😂😂

This is my friend Bri while we were at J.P Licks! She ordered a banana split ice cream bowl :))

Anyways y’all I’ve had so much fun debriefing with you guys this week! I look forward to seeing you guys next week for my next installment. Until then, I hope all of you guys watch SINNERS!! See y’all soon ♥️

With Love,
