Looking Forward to Thanksgiving Break: Family, Friends, and New Adventures

Hi all,

With Thanksgiving break just around the corner, I find myself looking forward to everything it brings—time to relax, moments to reconnect, and the chance to be with the people who matter most. After a busy semester, I can’t wait to leave the textbooks behind for a while, head home, and just enjoy each day as it comes.

Coming Home: The Simple Joys of Family Time

There’s something so comforting about stepping back into my family’s home, especially for Thanksgiving. From the familiar smells of favorite dishes cooking in the kitchen to the sounds of my siblings and parents laughing in the next room, it’s a chance to just be with the people I love. I’m looking forward to catching up on all the little things we’ve missed in each other’s lives, whether it’s my dad’s latest project, my mom’s funny stories, or just sharing the little inside jokes we always return to.

Supporting My Brother and Sister: Proud Moments on the Sidelines

One thing I’m especially looking forward to is cheering on my siblings in their sports. I’ll be at my brother’s rugby match, and I know the adrenaline of watching him out on the field will be so exciting. There’s such a sense of pride in seeing him play, knowing all the effort he’s put in, and being able to celebrate each tackle, pass, and point.

Then there’s my sister’s field hockey game. I can’t wait to see her determination as she plays, knowing how hard she’s worked throughout the season. Watching her go all-in on the field, surrounded by her teammates, reminds me of why I love being home: it’s these shared moments of joy, pride, and support that make family time so meaningful.

Walks with My Dogs: The Perfect Way to Unwind

One of my favorite parts of being home is simply taking our dogs out for walks. There’s something so peaceful about wandering familiar trails or even just strolling through the neighborhood with them, watching as they sniff around and get excited about every little thing. They both are yellow labs, named Max and Rudy. These quiet moments in nature are a great chance to reflect, relax, and recharge. The crisp autumn air and fallen leaves only add to the experience, making it feel like the perfect fall escape.

A New Adventure with My Boyfriend’s Family

This year also brings the exciting opportunity to go on vacation with my boyfriend’s family. It’ll be a unique way to experience Thanksgiving, sharing a different set of traditions and creating new memories together. I’m looking forward to the relaxed pace, fun conversations, and, of course, the chance to spend quality time with him and his family.

Reconnecting with Friends: Laughter, Memories, and Cozy Hangouts

Thanksgiving wouldn’t be complete without reconnecting with friends, too. Whether we’re lounging at a favorite café, watching movies, or just reminiscing on all that’s happened this semester, it’s always a highlight. Sharing stories, catching up on everyone’s latest adventures, and just laughing together brings so much warmth and joy to the break.

This Thanksgiving, I’m grateful for all these upcoming moments—the big and the small, the cozy and the adventurous. It’s these experiences that remind me of all the people and places that ground me. Here’s to making the most of each day and savoring every moment this Thanksgiving break!

Until next week,

Anna Tutek
