Hello Blog,
The couple of weeks before spring break are usually pretty busy in college, but I’m in the strange position this year where it’s quite the opposite! The first 6 weeks of the semester went by in a blur, and now I feel like I get to chug along at a normal pace. A lot of my friends are pretty busy right now though, so it’s all about managing time and prioritizing time together as a fun break! In my yoga class this semester, we’ve been doing a lot of full body stretches to combat bad posture that might come from studying for extended periods of time. I’m actually really enjoying the class because it’s two hours a week where I’m completely disconnected from my phone and email and anything else college students love to spend time worrying about.Â
The study breaks my friends and I have scheduled in the evening this week are as follows:
- Weekly Monday Bachelor night: We’re severely behind on this season but are determined to finally finish a season. We also spent the time playing the card game Sequence and brainstorming predictions for the State of the Union address on Thursday (more on this later).Â
- Chili cook off: This is one of my favorite events that Wellesley Fresh (the meal service at Wellesley) holds. Each dining hall (we have 4!) perfects their chili recipe and students vote on which one is their favorite. My friends and I take this very seriously. We tried all 4 chilis, palette cleansed with jalapeno cheddar cornbread, and cast our votes as our civic duty. Our favorite part is also taking what we call a “victory lap,” where we each had a final cup of our choice chili.Â
- State of the Union: Speaking of civic duty, last night my friends and I had a State of the Union viewing session. We turned our prediction into a bingo card, and I can proudly say that we achieved a double bingo. This is the beauty of having a friend majoring in political science – thank you liberal arts!Â
This weekend I have one of my first musical performances of the semester to look forward to! My advanced performance seminar class will have a concert at a local church to practice pieces that will be on our final recital. I’ll be ending the concert with the main piece in my recital, which is 17 pages long! I think I’ve finally figured out the page turning system, and a church really fits the ambiance of my piece, so I’m looking forward to it!
Until next time,
