Happy end of the school week! I love watching people’s day in my life videos on YouTube, so I decided to do the same here in this blog post. Today, I will go through what an average Monday—the busiest day of my week—looks like for me this semester.
This semester, most of my classes are in the late afternoon. On Mondays, I begin class at 2 pm. I use the late start to sleep in and catch up on any homework. I then head to my first class of the day, which is a religion elective on Buddhism. I am using this class to fulfill my Religion, Ethics, and Moral Philosophy distribution requirement. This class has about 15 people. Right now in the class, we are preparing to write our first paper and do discussions in class.
Right after religion class, I head to my economics elective class on finance theory. The class is definitely challenging as it is my first ever 300-level economics class, which is the highest class level at Wellesley, But, it is rewarding to learn. We complete many practice problems in class, which is my favorite way to understand tough material. This class has about 20 people.
I then have 35 minutes between my econ class ending and when the Wellesley loco shuttle comes to take me to my MIT evening class. I go to the Bae Pao Lu Chow Dining Room at the Lulu Chow Wang Campus Center to eat a quick dinner before getting on the shuttle. It takes about an hour to get to my stop at MIT.
My MIT class is 90 minutes long, and we have had really cool speakers from the law field come to class for the last two weeks. I am not planning to pursue law, but it is really eye opening just to learn more about the field just for my personal interest. This is a large class (compared to Wellesley class sizes) with more than 50 students. Class speeds by, and once it finishes, I have about 30 minutes until the Wellesley shuttle arrives. I use this time to walk to MIT’s Stratton Student Center. Cross-registered Wellesley students have a meal allowance to purchase lunch or dinner at MIT during the school week. I use my daily swipe to get boba or a snack from one of the cafes in the center before the bus comes to shuttle me back to Wellesley.
I finally arrive back at my dorm at 9:45 pm! Honestly, I am pretty exhausted at this point and just lie in bed once I get in my room. Mondays are busy, but I like to get it out of the way at the beginning of the week. Thank you for reading!
