Greetings my lovely readers! I hope y’all have had a great week so far! If y’all haven’t caught up on my post from last week about Kimball Farm, be sure to check that out! Y’all know the drill already…grab those snacks and tea and get ready to hear me yap as I always do! So for this week’s blog, I am going to be talking to you guys about my favourite spot in the Ville! I will of course give you guys some context about what the Ville is in relation to Wellesley College. So the Ville is the town of Wellesley, which is like 5-10 minutes away from our campus. Some of my faves who have been also sharing blogs with you guys this summer have probably already spoken a little bit about what the Ville is. I will give y’all a little more details! We have a range of different shops/restaurants in the Ville…speaking from experience, I would say these are some of the top choices for students: Shake Shack, Laughing Monk, Riceburg, Starbucks and Playa Bowls (My personal favourite). In terms of grocery stores, we have Roche Bros and Whole Foods so students can get groceries and stuff too which is really nice! Anyways, I’ve diverted…back to my Playa Bowls obsession!
If y’all are anything like me, you’ve probably wandered into a Playa Bowls at some point. I remember my first ever trip to Playa…The minute I walked in I was so geeked y’all. The first thing I saw was all the colours and then the menu which had so many different bowls to choose from…..I was so overwhelmed! For those who may not know what Playa is, I would love to explain ( I will try and do this, without dreaming of what my next playa bowl combination will be). So basically, Playa Bowls is a smoothie bowl franchise that started at the Jersey Shore and it has expanded all over the U.S, hence why we have a branch in Wellesley. So Playa specialize in fresh, customizable bowls (made in house) where customers can choose from a range of different bases such as açaí, pitaya (dragon fruit), coconut, banana, and more and then you can choose a range of toppings that you can put on top of your base like fresh fruit (bananas, strawberries, mango, blueberries etc), granola, peanut butter, chia seeds, Nutella, and even honey drizzle. And YES, it really is as delicious as I am describing to y’all ( I promise I am not exaggerating)
Okay, I’m going to share my order with y’all….I mean I don’t gatekeep so I’m happy to share that info :). I am obviously being dramatic…a lot of you guys probably order the same thing as me, but still walk with me y’all! I have, of course, tried basically every combination that I could get at Playa, but there’s just one that will always hit different for me! So here it goes:
Dragonberry Pitaya Bowl with,
- Half Passion – Fruit/Half Acai Base
- Blueberries
- Pineapple
- Mango
- Strawberries
- Honey Drizzle
Y’all I promise you this bowl slaps!!! If you haven’t already tried it, you most definitely need to after reading this blog. I promise you will never go back to what you were ordering before. Now y’all can’t say I don’t ever put you with good recs!
This is my favourite bowl, as y’all can see it is full of all of my favourite toppings, and it tastes as good as it looks!
