Happy almost end-of-semester! This will be my penultimate blog post this semester, and the last week of classes is coming up. The past few weeks have been hectic – exams, projects, and the Boston Marathon last Monday. During this hecticness, I was able to go on my first full lake path walk last weekend!
The lake path is the path around Lake Waban, the lake that is on our campus. Part of the lake path is private property, but the entire path opens up to the college community several times a year. This past weekend, it opened up, and I decided to go on my first full lake path walk!
The weather was amazing that Saturday in the 70s and 80s. I started walking from behind Lulu Chow Wang Campus Center. I saw lots of other classmates on the path too since everyone was trying to take advantage of the warm weather.
The lake path itself mostly goes through forested areas. I really enjoyed seeing campus and Galen Stone Tower from an opposite viewpoint. I took plenty of pictures and water breaks too. The walk actually did not take me as long as I expected, and I was completed with most of it within an hour.
One of the best parts was seeing the Hunnewell Estates on the lake path, which have these really cool foliage outside. I have always seen them from a distance, so this was my first time seeing it all up close.

Overall, I had a great walk, and I love the nature on Wellesley’s beautiful campus. In the hustle and bustle of school, it can become difficult to enjoy the campus. So, I am especially appreciative of days like this where the lake path is open and the Wellesley community can enjoy it.
