My Tuesdays

Hi Blog Readers, I am writing this right before the start of spring break! As I mentioned in my last post, I am heading back home to Illinois for break and am so excited to see my friends and family back home.

Today, I wanted to give another Wellesley Day in the Life post because I feel like these are the most interesting to potential applicants. I am going to be writing about what my Tuesdays look like!

My Tuesdays begin with going to work for my research assistant job. I have mentioned in previous posts that I have been going in-person to my research lab’s office to work. For the research project I am on, we interview people, and I go in-person to do qualitative coding of those interview transcripts on the lab’s computers. I walk to the office around 10:50 am and it takes me about fifteen minutes to get there. I love using this walk to start my day and listen to music! I stay there and code until about 1:00 pm.

I then walk back to a dining hall and quickly have lunch before class. On Tuesdays, I only have one class, which is my religion class on Christianity and the New Testament. I walk to the academic quad, where this class is located. Fun fact, most humanities and social science classes are located in the academic quad! In class, we mostly read and talk about passages of gospels from the New Testament. Typical classes at Wellesley are one hour and fifteen minutes long, and I am done with class at 3:25 pm.

After class ends, I might go to Lulu Chow Wang Campus Center if I have a package to pick up. If not, I walk back to my dorm and use these few hours to relax, start homework, and have dinner with friends!

On Tuesday evenings, I go to my committee meeting for WZLY. WZLY is the student radio organization on campus and is located in Billings Hall. All WZLY DJs have to be on a committee, and I am on the Events & Media committee this semester. The committee is currently planning our annual WZLY birthday party that commemorates the organization’s founding. Meetings are one hour long and by 7:00 pm, I am done. What I do afterwards depends on the week, I might go to tutoring hours for a class or meet with classmates to work on something. After that ends, I go back to my dorm to do some more homework and call it a night!
