Hello wonderful readers! I have such a fun trip to tell you all about. I went to New York with Julia to visit our close friend Cecilia. On Friday of last week, Julia drove me from Wellesley, MA to Bronxville, NY. She gave me a tour of her hometown and fed me lunch. We then took the train into Grand Central Station. This was my first time in Grand Central Station. It was such a surreal experience. The only thing I was thinking about was Gossip Girl and Madagascar because both of these films/TV shows were filmed in Grand Central Station. From Grand Central Station, we took the train to Manhattan.
Cecilia graciously opened up her home to us to give us a place to crash. After a quick rest we were out hitting the town! We went to Chinatown and had gluten free dim sum! (Cecilia and I had some dim sum that had gluten but Julia had strictly gluten free dim sum). It was a good, cheap dinner! We then met up with our friend Maya K (MTK)! She met us at Heytea. I have not seen her since the end of the academic year so it was really fun to see her. We then hit some shopping to scope the area that we would be properly hitting the next day. The weather was so incredibly humid, and taking the train was an especially tough battle we fought.

Saturday morning we were up at 9:30 and started our day off eating out leftover dinner/bagels to save some money. We then hit SoHo and did some DAMAGE to our credit cards. We visited so many small boutiques and stationary stores. The stationary stores will do it every single time. I love stationary. We visited Goods for the Study in the West Village alongside a couple of other stores that I cannot remember.
For dinner that night we went to a risotto restaurant called Risotteria Melotti. From a strictly objective standpoint, it was good but a bit overpriced, but I guess that is how everything is in New York (I am scared to look at my credit card bill after this trip).
Since Julia and Cecilia are natives to New York, they were my tour guides and showed me all around the city. I had a blast exploring the city with them, and I look forward to the next time I am in New York! Huge thanks to them! See you all next week for my final blog before I go abroad to Copenhagen!
Best,
Chelsea
