I’ve been back on campus for three weeks now and to be honest, I was going a little stir crazy for a minute there. Last weekend I took the Amtrak back to New York to go to a Niall Horan concert, and since then I have been struggling to recreate that adrenaline rush (because what could possibly be better than hearing “Stockholm Syndrome” live?!).
After complaining all week about my boredom, I finally decided to go on a little solo adventure into the town of Wellesley and force myself to appreciate what’s right in front of me 🥰. On Saturday morning, I grabbed my water bottle and my airpods, and I set off on a walk into the town. My first stop was Wellesley Books, where I spent over an hour meandering and reading blurbs. I ended up buying two books, one of them is a poetryish memoir that I’m super excited to read! Then it was lunchtime, so I continued my journey on to Sweetgreen. I had big dreams of going to the Wellesley Free Library afterwards, but unfortunately it was about to rain so I had to make my way back. 🥲
Nevertheless, she persisted, and I went on another(!!) adventure to see Love Lies Bleeding with a friend later that day. I was so ready to see Kristen Stewart that I forgot to find out the actual plot of the movie, so imagine my surprise when the lesbian power couple starts killing everyone in very graphic, violent ways! Even though the movie was questionable, the experience was an overall 10/10. We went to a cute little theater in Harvard Square and walked around Cambridge until it was time to take the red line and commuter rail back. Getting off campus did wonders to cure my cabin fever and was a big step in my journey to fully embrace the greater Boston area.
