The end of the fall semester is here! Today is my last day of classes, we have reading period till Sunday, and the final exam period is next Monday to Thursday. To recap, I have final exams for econ, math, and art history, so I will be functioning on just coffee and a dream for the next week.
As my last post this year, I want to reflect on the good and the bad of this semester. Specifically, I want to use the rose, thorn, bud method to do this. Rose is something positive from the semester, thorn is something more negative, and bud is something with potential that I am excited about.
Rose 🌹: I was more active on campus this semester: I am a WZLY DJ, I joined club water polo and the e-board of Art History Club, and I worked Friends and Family weekend back in October. These activities pushed me out of my comfort zone (in a good way); for example, being a DJ and having a weekly radio show has helped me grow my on-the-spot, public speaking skills. With all these activities, I have met great people in the process, and I am excited to continue them next spring!Â
Thorn 🌵: This semester was very academically challenging. There was a jump from taking primarily 100-level courses last year to 200 and 300-level courses. My math and econ classes especially have been difficult; I have spent a lot of time grinding for those, and it has been challenging, but I am proud of myself for trying and getting through them. My classes have been hard but have taught me how to work and study better.
Bud 🌱: I am really excited about the courses I am taking next semester. I am registered to take a Chinese, statistics, econometrics, and religion class. And, I am trying to cross register and take an MIT class on economic history next semester! I look forward to my stats course because it is for my stats minor, and it is the first upper-level stats course that I am taking at Wellesley. If my cross registration works out, then I am excited to take an MIT class next semester and experience a different type of classroom environment.Â
Thank you so much for reading this year. I will include photos from throughout this semester, and I hope everyone has an amazing December. I will see you all in January!
