Spring Weekend!!! 🐸

Hellooooo everyone!

It’s time for most Wellesley students’ favorite time of the year at Wellesley—Spring Weekend! It’s a whole weekend + the Friday and Monday around it where there are lots and lots of fun springy events on campus. Friday kicked it off with Freaky Friday, a big party with a DJ and food outside the Lulu Campus Center. Then Saturday was Plazapalooza where they bring several food trucks, and you can get food from any of them for free. The weather was gorgeous, so of course everyone made a picnic out of this event; every piece of grass around the trucks was utilized for that purpose. And of course the biggest event of the semester—MarMon! As the halfway point of the Boston marathon is right outside Wellesley, this day is always amazing. Everyone was screaming as part of the Scream Tunnel, encouraging the runners passing by; there was music, bouncy houses, photo booths—practically everything you need for a fun day outside.

On another note, that Sunday was also Easter, and I got to celebrate it with some friends. On Saturday morning, some friends and I made breakfast together and dyed eggs for the traditional egg fight on Sunday. One of my friends lives nearby, so she actually invited us to Easter lunch with her whole family, which was really nice. Good food, great vibes, and a pinch of that sense of home that I have really been missing recently—an amazing day!

On Saturday, I also went to the Latinx Culture Show, one of my personal favorite events from the year. We witnessed a lot of people representing their cultures through dance, songs, poetry, and so much more! It was truly great to see. My favorite part though, without a doubt, was the carnival dancers that they had invited to come perform for us. I don’t know what I was more mesmerized by, their dance moves or the colorful costumes. Some of my friends were also performing on stage, so I got to cheer them on from the crowd and to be amazed by their passion and skills.

That’s it from me for now. It’s almost the end of the semester, so stay tuned for my last blog next week!
