Hi everyone!
Things are settling into their normal rhythm here in Wellesley—homework never ends, deadlines are creeping behind every corner, and you need to pull out your google calendar to figure out if you can hang out with your friends during the day. There is something very soothing in that whole routine though that I missed when I was abroad, as strange as that sounds. And while there is some comfort in that, it’s also very important to make time for yourself, your friends and loved ones, and most importantly—for fun! Small gestures and meet ups during the day can make all the difference.

My friends and I in my favorite classroom for studying
This week for example, I spent an unfortunate amount of time in the Science Center because, for some reason, my brain works best in that building. To make the whole experience better, I was meeting up with friends to study in some random rooms throughout the building, and I was bringing in my favorite tea flavors (there are quite a few tea and coffee carts in that building actually). Last night we all stayed there late, so we decided to use the empty classroom + projector combination to catch up with Drag Race on a bigger screen. We were supposed to be studying while watching the episodes, but that didn’t really work out (for me at least, hah). Fun fact, one of the drag queens competing on the new season, Kori King, is from Boston and has performed at Wellesley during Drag Bingo.

Ignore the many layers I have on me
I have also started catching up with people that I hadn’t had the chance to see after coming back from abroad. This weekend especially I went out to Boston to see one of my friends that graduated from Wellesley last May. I got to see her new apartment and learn about her new job. It was really fun, but it also felt a little surreal because she now looks like an actual adult, not a college student. She also introduced me to this very cool tea store, MEM Tea, that had some really crazy tea combinations (such as tea with cucumbers, tobacco, burnt sugar, brandy, and all sorts of cool things).

Snaps from the city
That’s it from me for this week. See you again next week!
