Hi all,
As the days tick down to Thanksgiving break, there’s a palpable buzz in the air. Conversations around campus are filled with travel plans, family traditions, and favorite holiday dishes. The week before break feels like the final push before a much-needed pause—a chance to step off the treadmill of lectures, assignments, and meetings, even if only for a little while.
For me, this Thanksgiving break is more than just a holiday; it’s a lifeline. This semester has been a whirlwind of learning, deadlines, and growth, but also one that demands constant energy and focus. With final projects looming and exams visible on the horizon, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. That’s why this upcoming trip feels like the perfect opportunity to reset.
I’m particularly excited about the chance to travel with my boyfriend and his family this year. A change of scenery always has a way of refreshing the spirit. Whether it’s exploring a new place, soaking up some downtime, or simply stepping away from the routine, I’m looking forward to embracing a slower pace. I can already picture the quiet mornings with coffee, long walks, and moments of laughter shared over meals.
But beyond the excitement of the trip itself, there’s something deeply grounding about taking this time to recharge. These few days offer the perfect chance to reflect on how far I’ve come this semester while also mentally preparing for the final stretch. The last weeks of the term are always packed, and having the clarity that comes from rest will be key to staying focused and motivated.
Thanksgiving break serves as a reminder of the importance of balance—between work and rest, productivity and peace. I’m eager to return from this trip feeling re-energized and ready to tackle final papers, presentations, and exams. For now, though, I’m giving myself permission to savor the anticipation, pack my bags, and fully embrace the joy of an upcoming adventure.
Here’s to a week of rest, renewal, and gratitude—both for the moments we’re about to enjoy and the challenges we’re gearing up to conquer. Let the countdown begin! (It’s 9 days if you’re wondering!)
Until next week,
Anna Tutek
